Quintessential Gin

Posted by 80proof On March - 24 - 2009

>q-ginIn 1761, one of the most distinguished distillers in England began producing a smooth, botanical-infused gin quite unlike the coarse imports of the times. In the bustling Navy port of Warrington, the gin was an instant hit among the wealthier classes, naval officers and exporters, bringing new life to a dying craft and a new style to England’s aristocracy. Today, we proudly produce this original recipe with a unique twist for the 21st century.

Q Gin is imported from England, and distilled 5 times to create a pure and flawless spirit. The essence of lotus leaves and lavender have been added to the traditional profile of juniper and other botanicals, giving this gin a distinctive and smooth taste matched by no other super-premium gin.

The silky flavor profile of lavender and exotic lotus flower leaves combined with the water from one of England’s purest springs, impart a uniquely refreshing, smooth taste. Quintessential Gin takes the fine British tradition of gin distillation in brave new directions.

At 80 proof, Q Gin is smooth enough to be taken straight up, graceful enough to be mixed in any cocktail and always deliciously unforgettable.

Oliphant Dry Gin

Posted by 80proof On March - 24 - 2009

oliphantThe origin of the Olifant brand relates way back to 1841 when a Dutch businessman, J.J.Melcher began producing his Hand crafted Dutch Gin in Schiedam, Holland. He started trading his hand crafted Gin in the Dutch colonial areas of South and West Africa. They marked the barrels containing Gin with the mark of an Elephant which gave it its brand name Oliphant.

The founder, Mr. Melcher was thoroughly committed to produce world class alcohol for his fellow Dutchmen and as such he was careful enough to select the finest Dutch grains for production of his spirits. The Oliphant Dry Gin is a combination of three distillates. One is very spicy Gin distillate which contains a wide range of spices which includes Juniper berries, Angelica and violet root, cinchona and many others.

Oliphant dry gin is crafted in small batches based upon a carefully protected secret recipe. Each and every batch of production is so thoroughly supervised and personally guarded that it ensures that the exotic botanicals and luxurious aromas of the grain is present in every glass of the drink. This dry gin is drunk neat, on the rocks, and is also an important spirit for mixing in number of cocktails and long drinks.

With its uncompromised quality and a very personal attention paid to every batch of production which brings about a consistency of quality, Oliphant brand is becoming popular amongst the connoisseurs for whom price is not an issue, but unsurpassed quality is a must.

G’Vine Gin

Posted by 80proof On March - 24 - 2009

gvine1Once a year, in mid-June, in the storied region of Cognac, France, the rare green grape flower blossoms to life. The flower exists for only a short time before maturing into grape berries
and, in this succulent state, is the exquisite infusion for G’Vine Gin.

The base for the G’Vine infusion process is unique to the Gin family. France’s Cognac region is home
to the centuries-old Ugni Blanc grape. In September of each year, the Ugni Blanc are harvested and
immediately pressed and converted to wine. The resulting spirit is distilled four times producing a
neutral grape spirit. Unlike the traditional grain spirit associated with Gin production, the Ugni Blanc
grape spirit is much smoother and more suave with a heady body and aroma new to the palate. It is also
the perfect canvas for the green grape flower to express its complex delicacy.

Added are botannicals: ginger root, liquorice, green cardamom, cassia bark, coriander, juniper berries, cubeb berries,
nutmeg and lime. The Ugni Blanc neutral spirit and the
botanical spirits are blended in perfect proportion and copper pot distilled one last time for an exquisite
marriage.

Traditional gin drinkers may not appreciate the scope of G’Vine and its bordering on the line of what can be called gin, but it is a refreshing new take on the white spirit. And those who are not particularly fond of “ginny” gin may really enjoy this one.

Is it a Martini worthy gin? No, the vermouth only adds more wine to the gin. But it does fair nicely in fruity gin cocktails.

Cricket Club Gin

Posted by 80proof On March - 24 - 2009

cricketThe origins of the game of cricket lie somewhere in the Dark Ages – probably after the Roman Empire, almost certainly before the Normans invaded England.

There is evidence of cricket being played in Guidford, Surrey,in 1515, and in 1598 cricket was mentioned in Florio’s Italian-English dictionary. In 1730 the first recorded match was played at the Artillery Ground, off City Road, Central London, still the cricketing home of the Honourable Artillery Company. There was evidence of gin being consumed by the fans there.

We at Indio Spirits, Inc., believe that Cricket Club Gin, with its rare taste, would have been served there.

Cascade Mountain Gin

Posted by 80proof On March - 24 - 2009

>cascademoutainginJuniper has long been recognized for its medicinal properties and it is generally accepted that gin was first produced in Holland in the mid-1500s by Dr. Franciscus Sylvius as a treatment for the stomach, kidneys and just about anything else that could benefit from a stiff drink.
Over the centuries many different versions of gin (with a variety of extra flavors) have been introduced — including the gin & tonic developed to make malaria medicine palatable — but ultimately if it isn’t juniper, it isn’t gin.

Cascade Mountain Gin is a return to the original flavor and spirit of gin. It’s crafted with wild, handpicked juniper berries from the Central Oregon high desert plateau. While most gins use extracts and artificial flavorings, Cascade Mountain Gin is made with only fresh, natural ingredients.

Those who know gin will appreciate the subtle and full flavor. The aroma of Cascade Mountain is clean and pure without the perfume or chemical smells that come with the use of extracts and commercial flavorings. Cascade is the gin for the serious martini connoisseur.

Cascade Mountain Gin is ideal for the classic, dry martini or any mixed gin drink. At 95-proof it is strong enough to not become overpowered by the mixer and the fresh juniper flavor shines through in a well-made mixed drink.

Martin Miller’s Gin is a premium English gin made from ten carefully balanced botanicals. These ingredients are mixed with only the purest Icelandic water to create an unrivalled clean, fresh taste. Famous for its aroma and subtle taste, Martin Miller’s Gin owes its unique flavor to a blend of hundreds of berries, herbs, roots and spices carefully combined to create a unique fingerprint of taste sensations. Those who partake of Martin Miller’s Gin will immediately notice its sweet mouthfeel, lovely strong citrus nose and taste and a gentle finish.

“Opening whiffs are of freshly ground black pepper and cassia bark; after six minutes, the intriguing bouquet adds subtle fragrances of licorice, juniper berry and bitter orange peel. The prevailing early-on flavors feature the bitter orange peel; at midpalate, juniper dominates, effectively vanquishing its flavor peers. Turns pleasantly floral and fruity in the finish.”
